Soft Skills and Thinking

Artificial Intelligence

No black box. Your child trains, tests, and improves real AI models, then builds a chatbot, an image classifier, and more. For Grade 7 to 10.

Artificial Intelligence

What is Artificial Intelligence?

Kids build real AI: training models, testing bias, no black boxes.

πŸ€–

Not Magic, Just Data

Your child learns exactly how AI makes decisions, using real, kid-friendly tools, not a mystery box.

βš–οΈ

Ethics Built In From Day One

Fairness and bias are covered early, so your child understands what AI gets wrong, not just what it gets right.

🎯

Eight Real AI Projects

From a Rock-Paper-Scissors AI to a working chatbot, every project is trained and tested by your child, not pre-built.

β€œAI stops being a mystery once your child has trained one themselves.”

What Your Child Will Build

Every project is built live in class β€” not copied from a tutorial.

Rock-Paper-Scissors AI
Project 1

Rock-Paper-Scissors AI

A game where the computer learns to predict the player's next move

Image Classifier
Project 2

Image Classifier

A model trained to recognize and sort pictures (e.g. cats vs dogs)

Teachable Machine App
Project 3

Teachable Machine App

A custom AI trained using the child's own webcam images or sounds

Chatbot Buddy
Project 4

Chatbot Buddy

A simple rule-based and AI-enhanced chatbot that holds a conversation

Emotion Detector
Project 5

Emotion Detector

A program that reads facial expressions and guesses the emotion

Recommendation Engine
Project 6

Recommendation Engine

A mini "Netflix-style" system that suggests movies or games based on preferences

AI Art Generator
Project 7

AI Art Generator

Creating original artwork and patterns using generative AI tools

Final AI Project
Project 8

Final AI Project

An original AI application combining data, training, and prediction, designed solo

How the Course Works

A clear learning path from first concept to final project.

1
Day 1 - 8

Introduction to AI

  • What AI actually is, where it shows up daily, and the ethics behind it.
2
Day 9 - 15

Training Your First AI Model

  • Hands-on training using Teachable Machine, with images, sound, and gestures.
3
Day 16 - 23

Machine Learning with Python

  • Moving from no-code tools into real Python-based prediction models.
4
Day 24 - 29

Computer Vision

  • Teaching a computer to "see," from face detection to a working emotion detector.
5
Day 30 - 35

AI That Talks, NLP and Chatbots

  • Building a chatbot that holds a conversation and has a personality.
6
Day 36 - 41

Generative AI and Recommendations

  • AI-generated art and stories, plus how recommendation systems work.
7
Day 42 - 45

Final Project and Showcase

  • Planning, building, and presenting an original AI project solo.

Questions Parents Ask

This is YCA's course for children ready to learn how AI actually works, not just use it, designed for Grade 7 to 10. Your child trains real AI models using kid-friendly tools, then moves into Python-based machine learning, computer vision, chatbots, and generative AI.
Some Python background helps for the machine learning modules, but it isn't required. The course opens with visual, no-code tools like Teachable Machine before introducing Python in Module 3, with a quick refresher built in for anyone who needs it.
Yes. Module 1 includes a kid-friendly introduction to AI ethics and bias, and Ethical Awareness is one of the six core skills the course is built around. Your child learns to question an AI's accuracy and fairness, not just trust it.
The course runs 45 days of live classes, one class a day at 60 minutes each, 45 classes in total, moving through 7 modules from AI basics through to an independent final project.
Eight real projects across the course: a Rock-Paper-Scissors AI, an image classifier, a custom Teachable Machine app, a chatbot, an emotion detector, a movie recommendation engine, AI-generated art, and a final AI project your child designs independently.
