Python Programming

What is Python Programming ?

Real Python coding for kids, text-based, beginner-friendly, the language behind AI and the web.

🐍

The World's Most Popular Language

Python is the language behind everything from websites to AI, and it's built to read almost like plain English.

⌨️

Real Typed Code

After Scratch's drag-and-drop blocks, Python is where your child starts writing actual code, line by line.

Seven Real Projects, Not Worksheets

From a working calculator to a Pygame game to a finished GUI app, every project is something your child keeps and can show off.

β€œThe same logical thinking as Scratch, now in the language real developers actually use.”

What Your Child Will Build

Every project is built live in class β€” not copied from a tutorial.

  • The absolute fundamentals: variables, data types, input, and simple conditionals.
2
Day 13 - 19

Loops and Turtle Graphics

  • Loops and repetition, brought to life through Turtle drawing and patterns.
3
Day 20 -27

Functions and Modules

  • Reusable code blocks, error handling, and Python's built-in modules.
4
Day 28 - 34

Data Structures

  • Organizing information with lists, tuples, dictionaries, and sets.
5
Day 35 -39

Object Oriented Programming (OOP)

  • Modeling real-world objects with classes, inheritance, and polymorphism.
6
Day 40 - 43

Game Development with Pygame

  • Building an actual playable game with movement, collisions, and sound.
7
Day 44 - 45

Questions Parents Ask

This is YCA's course for children ready to move from block-based coding into real, typed programming, designed for Grade 5 to 8. Your child writes actual Python code from the first module, building toward seven real projects including games and a finished desktop app.
Not strictly, but it helps. Scratch teaches the same logical thinking this course builds on, sequencing, loops, and conditionals, so children coming from Scratch usually settle into typed code faster. A child with no Scratch background can still join; the first module starts from the absolute basics of coding.
The course runs 45 days of live classes, one class a day at 60 minutes each, 45 classes in total, moving through 7 modules from Python basics through to a final graduation project.
Seven real projects across the course: a working calculator, Turtle graphics art, a Magic 8-Ball game, a virtual pet simulator, a superhero profile generator built with object-oriented programming, a Pygame game called Dodge the Falling Objects, and a final graduation project, a Color Mixer, Pocket Money Tracker, or Music Player built with Tkinter.
Most students move on to YCA's AI for Kids course, since Python is the same language used there, or into Game Design and Development to go deeper into the Pygame skills covered in Module 6
