Video Editing Course for Kids in Nepal

What is Video Editing ?

A course designed to turn curiosity into real-world coding confidence.

βœ‚οΈ

The Skill Behind Every Video Your Child Watches

Every video your child enjoys was shaped by editing choices, what to cut, what to keep, and when.

🎡

Music, Timing, and Story

Editing is more than cutting clips, it's using music, pacing, and text to tell a story that holds attention.

πŸ†

A Real Finished Video

The final project is a short film your child edits start to finish, not a rough clip left unfinished.

β€œYour child has watched thousands of edited videos without ever thinking about why they work. This course is where they learn to make those same choices themselves.”

Video Editing

Serab Lama has spent the last 3 years working as a video editor, cutting and shaping footage into stories that grab attention. For the past year, he's brought that experience into the classroom, teaching kids the basics of video editing in a way that's simple, hands-on, and fun. Serab believes editing isn't just a technical skill, it's where a video's story really comes together and he loves watching students go from their first cut to a finished video they're proud to share.

Questions Parents Ask

This is YCA's course for children who want to turn raw video clips into real, finished videos, designed for Grade 3 to 10. Your child learns CapCut for the bulk of the course, then moves into Adobe Premier Pro, a professional editing tool, for a final original short video.
CapCut is currently free and fully accessible in Nepal, and it's genuinely the tool your child's favourite creators use. It's worth knowing that CapCut is owned by ByteDance, the same company as TikTok, and it was temporarily unavailable in Nepal between late 2023 and mid-2024. That's exactly why this course also teaches DaVinci Resolve, a stable, professional tool with no similar history, so your child's skills carry over regardless of what happens with any single app.
No prior footage is needed to begin. Early projects use provided practice clips, and by the Mini Vlog and Short Film Trailer projects, your child is welcome to record their own footage on a smartphone if they'd like to work with something personal.
This course teaches editing and storytelling skills, not how to grow a social media following. Your child learns transferable skills, pacing, structure, sound, and visual storytelling, that apply to school projects, personal videos, and any future creative or media work, not just posting online.
Seven real videos across the course: a first simple cut, a captioned video, a music-synced edit, a transition showcase, a personal mini vlog, a short film trailer, and a final original short video edited in a professional tool.
